Harvest Dance. I don't know who was more excited - Shelby and friends, Mandy or me. A remark that back in the "olden times," our school dances were called "Sock Hops" was the cause of much giggling! It's so much fun to see them grow.

I just remembered the reason they were called sock hops. When they were held in the gym on the basketball court, we had to take our shoes off to avoid scuffing up the polished hard wood of the court. Otherwise, we could generally keep our shoes on at a sock hop. Fun memories.
